BIOGRAPHY

My name is Olga Deikou. I was born in Florina, a small town located in Western Macedonia. I moved to Thessaloniki to study Chemical Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Eventually, I followed my passion and got involved with photography. Now, I work as a freelance photographer for companies, magazines as well as individuals clients.

The purpose of this page is to meet a strong urge of mine to present images. Almost an obsession, it has started from a constant need to observe and capture the world around me in order to better understand it and to an extent dissolve it into something different than a mere depiction of reality.

I create a photographic narration that keeps record of anything that fascinates me - mostly my current home town, Thessaloniki.

The naturalistic view on the urban landscape gets interconnected with the imaginary and emotional point of view. As a result my images are best described with a dream-like realism.
